Sales of apartments in Turkey grew by 54.2 percent year on year in August. In total, 170,408 apartments were sold during the month.
In the first eight months of this year, about 1.2 million apartments were sold in Turkey, which is 42.6 percent more than in the same period last year. In July, a record was set -
apartment sales increased by 124.3 percent compared to last year. The main reason for the rise of
home sales in Turkey was unprecedentedly low mortgage rates.
Apartments for sale in Turkey to foreign buyers increased in August by 8 percent to 3,893 units. Most of the sales were in Istanbul (1,648), Antalya (784) and Ankara (288).
houses in August increased by 28.3 percent year on year and amounted to 52,123 units. In the total
sales of housing in Turkey, their share was 30.6 percent.
Existing home sales in Turkey increased by 69.2 percent compared to the same month last year and reached 118,285 units.
Mortgage sales increased by 122.6 percent compared to August last year and reached 76,019 units. The share of mortgage transactions in the total volume amounted to 44.6 percent. The number of non-mortgage transactions reached 94,389 units and showed an annual growth of 23.6 percent in August.
