According to the DOM.RF study, more than half of the apartments in Russia are purchased using
mortgage loans. About 55 percent of apartments are bought in new buildings and 46 percent - in the secondary market.
According to preliminary data, the volume of issuance of
mortgage in Russia continues to grow, but by the end of 2018, growth has slowed down a bit. In October, the number of issued
mortgage loans increased by 40 percent compared to the same month last year. At the same time, in January, the growth of
mortgages amounted to 109 percent compared to January 2017, in February - 93 percent, and all spring this figure was more than 60 percent of last year's values.
In 2018, another record may be set in terms of the volume of issuance of
mortgage loans in the amount of 3 trillion rubles. In October, loans were issued in the amount of about 300 billion rubles. In total, over 10 months, according to preliminary estimates,
mortgage loans were issued in the amount of about 2.37 trillion.
