Latin letters in the names of residential complexes are planned to be banned
The government of the Russian Federation plans to ban the use of Latin characters in the names of residential complexes under construction. This follows from the draft resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation "On a unified information system for housing construction", writes the Construction News Agency. The draft resolution defines, among other things, the linguistic requirements for the unified information system for housing construction (UISHS). In the event of the adoption of this resolution, all information in the UIIHS will have to be posted in Russian. The use of letters of the Latin alphabet will be allowed only in relation to technical designations, names of legal entities and names of individuals in foreign languages, as well as their identification data (names and passwords) to gain access to the system. Developers will not be able to use Latin letters when filling out a project declaration. At the same time, according to the law on advertising, it is forbidden to indicate in advertising for raising funds for the construction of apartment buildings commercial designations other than those contained in the project declaration of the developer.
