The General Plan of 2007 does not take into account the development of the agglomeration and the new project "Akademgorodok 2.0". 38 million rubles have already been allocated in the budget for updating the master plan.
According to the chief architect of Novosibirsk, Viktor Timonov, for the past five years Novosibirsk has been a leader in housing construction, which has had a slightly negative impact on the volume of social and cultural facilities. So now the city has to catch up. A large number of kindergartens and schools will be built in the new housing estates, “because it is currently not very good there.”
The master plan will be updated taking into account the comprehensive development of transport infrastructure. The rapid growth of residential housing estates forces us to reconsider approaches to the design of roads and public transport lines. Not only the content will be updated - the document will be transferred to a digital format, which will make it more accessible for review and use.
