Following the increase in the key rate by the Bank of Russia, the leading players in the
mortgage market are also planning to raise rates.
Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia 14 December 2018 decided to raise the key rate by 0.25 percentage points, to 7.75 percent per annum. The adopted decision is of a proactive nature and is aimed at limiting inflationary risks, which remain at an elevated level, especially in the short term.
Even before the decision of the Central Bank was announced, Sberbank President German Gref said that he did not increase in rates on
mortgage depending on the policy of the regulator. VTB Bank is also ready to raise
