mortgage loan in Russia has begun to grow again. In May, growth amounted to 2.9 percent against a fall of 8.2 percent in April.
As a result, by the end of the month, the average size of
mortgage loan in the country rose to 2.47 million rubles from 2.4 million rubles in April. However, this is still below the March figure by 5 percent. Compared to the same period last year, the size of
mortgages increased by only 1.2 percent.
The leader in terms of average size issued loans for
purchase of an apartment in May this year was Moscow, despite the fact that that the average mortgage in the region for the month fell by 4.6 percent - up to 5.08 million rubles. In the Moscow region, the figure increased slightly - by 1.9 percent, to 4.04 million rubles.
