Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, approved the regulation on the procedure for the mandatory classification of hotels according to the level of service. From now on, all hotels will be required to receive the so-called stars - from zero to five.
Accredited organizations will carry out the classification of hotels, according to the results of which they will issue a certificate of assignment of a certain category. This certificate will be valid for three years.
If the hotel does not pass the qualification and will work without the assigned "stars", officials will be fined in the amount of 30,000 to 50,000 rubles, legal entities - in the amount of up to 1/25 of the total annual revenue, but not less 50,000 rubles.
According to the law adopted a year ago in Russia, the rules on the mandatory classification of hotels will come into effect in several stages: from July 1, 2019 - for hotels with more than 50 rooms, from 2020 - for hotels with more than 15 rooms, and from 2021 - for all hotels.
