In the first nine months of this year, the flow of Russian tourists to Thailand exceeded 1 million people, an increase of 13.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to the Ministry of Tourism of Thailand, only in September the country was visited by 49.6 thousands of tourists from Russia. However, this figure was 2.4 percent less than last year. The total tourist flow to Thailand from the beginning of 2018 to the end of September amounted to more than 28.5 million people (+8.7 percent year on year).
China continues to lead in terms of the number of tourists. Since the beginning of 2018, 8.4 million Chinese have visited Thailand (+13.3 percent). The flow of tourists from Europe, including Russia, amounted to 4.8 million (+5.1 percent), from the USA and Canada - 990.8 thousand (+6), from Australia - 593.7 thousand (-2.3).
According to forecasts, in 2018 Thailand will receive 38-40 million tourists. It is worth noting that Russian tourists brought 23.8 percent more revenue to the Kingdom in the nine months of this year than last year.
