houses and apartments in Turkey were sold. This is 0.5 percent less than a year earlier.
A large number of
residential properties were sold at the end of the year.
Turkey home sales soared 113.7 percent year on year to 226,503 units in December. Foreigners purchased 7,841 residential
real estate in Turkey in December. This is 77.1 percent more than in 2020.
The most popular among foreign
homebuyers in Turkey used by Istanbul (26,469
houses and apartments sold last year), as well as the resorts of Antalya (12,384) and Ankara (3,672 ). Home sales to foreigners jumped 43.5 percent year on year to 58,576 units.
Russians remain among the most numerous foreign
homebuyers in Turkey (5,379 units). More
apartments and houses in Turkey were bought only by Iranians (10,156 units) and Iraqis (8,661).
According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, 461,523 new buildings were sold in Turkey last year. The rest of the housing was bought on the secondary market.
Home mortgage purchases amounted to 294,530 units, 49 percent less than in 2020.
