The weighted average rate on loans for
purchase of an apartment in rubles in Russia last December reached its lowest value ever — 9 percent.
According to the Bank of Russia, along with the decrease in the price of
mortgage loan, there is also a surge in its popularity. In December, loans for
purchase of an apartment accounted for a quarter of the total lending to individuals. In total, more than 145,000
mortgage loans in the amount of 345.1 billion rubles were granted in a month, which exceeded the corresponding figures for November 2019 by a quarter .

mortgage grew from 9.41 percent in September 2018 to 10.55 in April 2019. In May, it fell to 10.53, in June to 10.29, in July it fell to 10.24, and in August it fell below 10 for the first time since January, amounting to 9.9. In September, the rate dropped to 9.68, in October it fell to a two-year low of 9.4, and in November it fell to 9.19.
Total debt under
