Треть россиян решили улучшить жилье после самоизоляции

A third of Russians decided to improve housing after self-isolation

After the lifting of restrictions related to the coronavirus, a third of Russians intend to improve their living conditions. Such results were shown by a study by the National Financial Research Agency (NAFI) analytical center.

33 percent of survey participants are going to take care of their housing, even despite the difficult financial situation. 39 percent of those who deal with housing expect to make repairs or redevelopment, another 39 plan to make do with changing furniture and creating a new interior. 18 percent of respondents are going to move to more comfortable conditions. Finally, 4 percent are ready to buy an apartment or build a property.

According to the study, 24 percent of respondents spent the period of self-isolation in private houses or dachas, and the vast majority (71 percent) in city apartments.

The main reason why Russians consider their current apartment uncomfortable is the small area. -15 years ago. It was customary to say that small formats are the answer to the emerging demand, and that it is not the footage that matters, but the layout, and that balconies are a relic of the past.

Also a common reason for change of housing there is a need to improve housing conditions due to the poor microclimate: problems with light, ventilation, humidity and so on. Another reason is the lack of furniture, the primitiveness of the interior, the lack of a design concept and other shortcomings in the decor.
