Vladivostok will receive funds for improvement if it becomes the capital of the Far Eastern Federal District

The Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East will allocate a federal subsidy for the improvement of Vladivostok if the city becomes the capital of the Far Eastern Federal District. This was announced by Deputy Minister for the Development of the Far East Alexander Krutikov.

Deputy Minister for the Development of the Far East Alexander Krutikov said this at a meeting on the prerequisites for considering the transfer of the administrative center of the Far Eastern Federal District to Vladivostok with the participation of the presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev .

"There is one more idea, Yury Petrovich, I would ask for your support. If there is a decision to move the administrative center ... We have a program for equipping economic growth centers, for which federal funding is provided for over the next three years. Within the framework of this program, we are ready to allocate a targeted federal subsidy for the improvement of the city of Vladivostok, for what the region itself will determine - embankments, parks. I would ask you to support,” said Krutikov.

Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Trutnev instructed to prepare a proposal.

“Only that it be compact in time. Time for everything is a week. In the future, we will be able to make decisions,” Trutnev said.

Khabarovsk has been the center of the Far Eastern Federal District since its formation in 2000. Oleg Kozhemyako, Acting Governor of Primorye, said earlier that Vladivostok should be made the capital of the Far East.
