Phuket should become a year-round resort without pronounced seasonality. This was stated by the new Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn during his first visit to the island.
According to the minister, the situation in the tourism sector in Phuket gives great hope to the Thai authorities. A slight decrease in the number of tourists from China compensated for the growth of visitors from Russia and India. Phuket International Airport recorded an increase in charter flights.
The Thai Ministry of Tourism intends to support the tourism industry in Phuket. It is also planned to develop the port infrastructure of the island and increase the number of cruises to Penang, Malacca and Singapore.
The boom in tourism and foreign investment in Phuket real estate has also caused a construction boom, which is approaching a seven-year peak. In the first 5 months of this year, 10 new projects for 2,742 apartments were put up for sale in Phuket. Most often
