The Bank of Russia expects an increase in demand for
mortgage against the backdrop of continuing rate cuts.
According to the latest data from the Central Bank, in November last the average weighted rate on
mortgage decreased to 9.19 percent. At the same time, the total debt of Russians on loans for
purchase of an apartment at the end of the month amounted to 7.6 trillion rubles, an increase over the year by 16.4 percent.

Mortgage is growing well, rates are falling. We think that there will be some activation even of demand against the backdrop of continued rate cuts, - said Alexander Danilov, Director of the Banking Supervision Department of the Central Bank.
