In February 2021, 147 thousand
mortgage loans were issued in Russia on
purchase of apartments for a total of 410 billion rubles. This is 36 percent more than in February 2020 in quantitative terms and 53 percent more in monetary terms.
"We are seeing an unprecedented growth
mortgage lending, which has been maintained for the ninth month in a row. More than 240 thousand
mortgage loans since the beginning of the year is almost a quarter of a million families who have improved their living conditions.Of course, the main reason for such volumes is
mortgage lending – record low rates for
mortgage. A huge contribution to this result is made by the preferential
mortgages for new buildings at 6.5 percent,” said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
In the first two months of 2021, 242,000
mortgages were issued in Russia for 669 billion rubles. To overcome the milestone of half a trillion rubles, as a rule, it takes about three months. This year, it was overcome for the first time in less than two months.
The average weighted rate of issuance of
mortgages in January as a whole in the market amounted to 7.23 percent, which is 2 percentage points lower than in January last year. The issuance rate of
mortgages for new buildings is 5.86 percent.
